I was cleaning my drawers when I found my old calculator TI-1270 … that is almost equal in age to me.
TI-1270 is a Texas Instruments Calculators rolled out around 1976. This calculator is powered by a 9V battery or AC-Adapter. It has 1 memory cell (slot for 1 number).
On board Chip is a Texas Instruments TMS0974 :
- has 8K transistors
- 8192-bit (1KB) of ROM
- 256-bit of RAM
- drivers for the display
- 1/x , x^2 , sqrt(x) , +/- , STO , RCL , pi , / , * , – , +
Display is LED with 8 digit.
Internal building is very simple and what is amazing, for an Italian like me, is that TI-1270 is made in Italy (maybe Italy was in the past the today China).
Two page from manual :
The value of this calculator currently is more or less 25Euro.
